You probably noticed we haven’t had a round table for a little while. We will continue with this hiatus for at least a few more weeks, as I am traveling throughout much of June, and Jeffrey is making the transition back from Norwalk to civilian life.
We’ll start up later in the summer, and plan to have a top-notch schedule throughout the Fall.

I would like to see a round table discussion on the definition of the elements of financial reporting, in particular the asset definition. I believe a robust definition of the concept of assets would be very useful in analyzing other accounting issues and serve as a solid foundation for the development of “simple” financial reporting standards, which although may be unattainable will surely never happen without useful definitions of the elements. Perhaps, you could get Ian Hague to lead a round table on the topic. He led the FASB/IASB research staff in developing the new working definition.
