Minnesota was one of the first places I presented after I became an assistant professor, and John was bubbling over with fresh ideas on possibilities for experimental economics research in accounting. I took them seriously, and John deserves some of the credit for whatever success I have had since then. I only had a handful of face-to-face interactions with John, but each one was memorable. Count me as one of the many young scholars John influenced. I took them seriously, and John deserves some of the credit for whatever success I have had since then.
