		<description>Thanks to Greg for writing such a thoughtful obituary and to Rob for posting it.  I especially appreciated the link to his lecture, which I just got done viewing.  I also had only a few face-to-face ineractions with John and consider myself fortunate for each of them.</description>

		<description>Count me as one of the many young scholars John influenced.  Minnesota was one of the first places I presented after I became an assistant professor, and John was bubbling over with fresh ideas on possibilities for experimental economics research in accounting.  I took them seriously, and John deserves some of the credit for whatever success I have had since then. 

I only had a handful of face-to-face interactions with John, but each one was memorable.</description>
