Danielle Zeyher, FASB Project Manager, will join us to discuss the IASB-FASB Leases Project. This project has potentially enormous implications for bringing debt-like commitments onto the balance sheet. It proposes to capitalize all lease obligations, including those currently classified as “operating leases”. Danielle will discuss the currently circulating exposure draft which is open for comment until December 15, 2010. We will have the opportunity to talk about academic research that has influenced the development of the exposure draft and research opportunities that can inform the ongoing debate.
